Den amerikanska författaren och manusförfattaren Suzanne Collins är främst känd för sina böcker trilogin "The hunger games". Före hennes debut 2008 hade hon länge arbetat som manusförfattare, främst till barnprogram. Det var då hon mötte barnboksförfattaren James Proimos hon inspirerades att själv börja skriva.
